Hunting tags in Eastern Oregon

I am looking at relocating due to a job opportunity in Eastern Oregon along the Snake River. How difficult will it be to get a mule deer tag (Baker County) every year as a resident? What about an elk tag? Or would I be better off to continue hunting in Idaho (OTC) as a non-resident? Just trying to weigh the benefits of relocating.

Hunt both states. Lots of flexibility on hunt timing in ID, depending on what you draw in OR. If you hunt with a bow you have all kinds of options every year. With a rifle a lot of the units will take awhile for elk, deer is a lot easier to draw(depending on the tag) in most of those units. There are options though, for example: pick a unit that takes a few years to draw and put in for first choice if you don't draw you get a PP. Then decide to either put in for a easy draw (spike only, under-subscribed etc.) second choice or grab a general season bow tag and have a month to hunt deer and/or elk. Any way you work it, once you figure out a system you'll have lots of hunting opportunities in OR and ID.

all rifle muley tags in oregon varys,,some pretty easy to draw ,some not,,if you dont draw a muley tag you can still go after them with a bow otc,,,beins idaho is close,it would probly be viable also.
