RMEF, Boone & Crocket Club, NRA (Endowment Life Member), Single Action Shooting Society (Life Member), Ducks Unlimited, ATA and various local shooting & outdoor organizations like the 4 Corners Rifle & Pistol Club & Windy Gap Regulators shooting clubs. I volunteer and contribute money to all of them and am also an officer in several of the local groups.

I used to be a member. When they started to get in bed with the sportsman for fish and wildlife (sfw) i bailed on them. Sfw would be the only conservation org i would not recommend, its main focus is to get as many auction tags as possible for the billionaire friends. Although Rmef is elk focused their habitat programs helps mule deer populations as well. I think Rmef and ducks unlimited are two of the best you can contibute to for impactful habitat projects. For political influence the Theodore Roosevelt conservation partnership is good one to support. I also contribute to regular folks that try to make meaning change when it comes to public land access. Corner crossing lawsuits, easements, ect.

Forgot to mention that muley fanatics is another conservation group focused on mule deer habitat. They have a decent charity rating, MDF has a perfect score. You can google charity navigator to see what percent of funds go in peoples pockets and what is used for habitat.

Buckbull is absolutely correct about SFW. They are THE worst organization out there. Privatizing wildlife and auctioning it off to the highest bidder is their MO. They have turned UT into what it is today. I bought 4 sheep and 2 Mtn. goat raffle chances for last year's expo when you didn't have to be present to win. It was only $30 but I felt sleazy just contributing that much to them. Never again.

Any group remotely associated to SFW puts a bad taste in my mouth. I didnt post that thread to diss on MDF. They do alot of good work. I know muley fanatics gets a lower charity score due to the fact that they bring in about $600,000 a year and pay their executes close to $100k a year. Mdf definitely puts money on the ground where contributors expect it.

They didn't outbid RMEF but were handed the contract with the explanation that the wildlife board didn't think that the RMEF could handle a event of that size.
I guess that the RMEF events didn't demonstrate that they could handle it.
But the RMEF also has quite a bit of mud on their face with how some of the local banquets are managed.

Oh, I didn't think you were. I detest SFW and will not support any group that aligns themselves with them. I'm sure MDF does a lot of good things but you can't align yourself with a pig and not expect to get a little mud on you. Maybe they will change my mind one day if they separate themselves permanently from SFW. Charity navigator is a good tool. Thanks
