Hunting Dubois wy. Help

I am most likely heading to Dubois area 67 68 to bow hunt this year if I don't draw the area I want. I live in laramie Any suggestions on where to go or things to consider beside the bears.

Any suggestions on where to go? I am going to head up there this summer and look around just to get familiar with the area.

I hear you about elks not being whitetails. I am lived in Ohio for 19 years and moved out west 6 years ago. Moved to wyoming 3 years ago. Before moving out here I always hunted out of a tree and shot deer at 20-30 yards with my bow. I will just head out an try to get to know the area. Thanks for the replies.. jim

that is a little strange. I don't know much about antelope but I didn't think they got off the plains. This winter has been extremely mild. as long as we don't get any big spring storms I am hopeful that everybody will come back strong after last year.

I know this is a old post but was asking for a point in the right direction. A family friend has a cabin in dubois and I have never been. But am heading that way for a antelope hunt hopefully and looking for a little starting knowledge. Any help would be greatly appreciated not trying for a monster just wanting to have a good time and hopefully put some meat in the freezer

I see antelope up high in the timber while elk hunting all the time. A couple of years ago a friend and I topped out on a high ridge after a heavy overnight snowstorm, expecting to see elk we were surprised to see a small herd of antelope with one huge buck in it. They were belly deep in snow feeding on sagebrush. I've tried to draw an antelope tag in that area for years, with no luck. But then I haven't drawn an antelope tag anywhere going on 5 years now.
