I grew up shooting them around Laramie. There are plenty to shoot but can be a little call shy unless you get private land. The mountains are full of them. The river bottoms are great if you can gain some permission. The base of sheep mountain would be a good place to start this time of year if your interested in hiking. I would also look at the public around the plains lakes. If Warren Livestock will give you permission, their land is great. They were based out of Cheyenne last I knew- they own a good chunk of the mountain between Laramie and Cheyenne. I would also talk to landowners in the Bosler area... tons of dogs out that way. Send me a PM if you need more info.

I'm down by Cheyenne and were having mild success which I think is due to the warmer weather their just not yet having to eat as often or as much yet. Get a few mornings around 0 and I think they will react a lot better.

I shot two coyotes out towards bosler on a chunk of state land a couple years ago. I was going to laramie from sybille canyon and it was right before I turned to go to laramie. They were just standing there so I got across the fence and shot em lol
