Hunting Colorado units 18 28 37 371

I didn't get drawn for the unit I usually hunt. I got a left over tag deer tag and a bull tag in unit 18 28 37 and 371. I am trying to get some help on hunting deer and bull elk. If any one could help me.

It's 3rd season November 1st -9th

I rode into a nice timberline bowl, in one of these units, last weekend just to check it out for a hunt next year. I liked what I saw but you will never get there in 3rd season. Even if you could, they wouldn't be there.

Very heavily hunted units, leftover tags are available every year. I have only hunted 181 3rd season for elk a few years back and didn't see much(wish I had a moose tag I could have filled out a couple times). Everybody I talked to while I was there told me to go higher into 18, but I stuck it out down lower and kind of regret it. My suggestion would be the NE end of 18, very timbered but heard good things.
