Good morning-up late here getting a feisty 2 yr old to sleep. lol

Great board here-been lurking for a few weeks and decided to sign up. Love to hunt, up until 2013 it was mostly small game behind my bird dog, but back then he passed on from old age to the great prairie in the sky. I promised my lady no more dogs til the last kid was in grade school, so I've been retooling my hunting gig into big game. 😆

I'm originally from out east, cut my teeth hunting in the PA mtns. Really missed being able to use my rifles to hunt much more than yotes here in Iowa. Own a 280 and 30-06 and enjoy rolling my own ammo. Took my first hunting trip out in the WY mtns a few years back and fell in love with the rockies.

Starting to build points in WY for elk, mule deer, and pronghorn to some day head to a good unit, but for next several years, my plan is try to get out west to hunt cow elk or doe deer/lopes on reduced price leftovers. Tired of reading about hunting out west-need to cowboy up and just do it! 😉

(Interesting-was editing some spelling errors and my smilies turned into little black diamonds with arrows-w8-maybe they're back? lol)

Ump,

I was dead set on heading to CO for cow elk this fall-but once I read the WY hunting guide and did some research on the other antlerless options out that way (for the sake of economics being my major motivator) it seems like a great option to get outdoors and live the dream on a budget.
