I hear ya and agree!

I like the idea of going after a new deer vs. hunting the same specie every year for ever, although I certainly plan to hunt some species year after year.

I'm confident I'll get all 10, all 29 however I think I could get close but some species such as polar bear, desert bighorn, etc... maybe be limiting factors in my quest.

I know the most recent guy that got the North American 29 (Pat Garrett) and it cost him just under $300K. From what I understand he did it on the cheap as well. He was self guided on most of his stuff (should also mention he is also an outfitter) and he did a lot of the big dollar hunts as cancellation hunts on short notice to cut the cost. I saw his cost breakdown and basically the sheep were at least half of his cost.

I pretty much have given up on the NA 29 unless the lottery rolls my way but I want to get the NA 10!

I can't afford all of them. I just want to get everything that colorado has. I'm not sure if that includes wolves or not, depends on who you talk to. I will put these at the top of my list, if I see one, so I can keep hunting the others.

Don't get me started on Wyoming sheep points, anyone with less than 10 pts shouldn't even build points, especially at $100 each, completely not worth it. To each their own though, with 16 pts you'll get your sheep one of these years. My view is anyone with less than 10, especially those just starting, 0-5pts, have so many guys ahead of them with 15+ pts etc... that your only hope is in the random draw, even with 10 pts, you're only chance is in the random draw, which of all the tags only 25% are random, so 4 tags = 1 random. I'll eventually apply for WY sheep but I'll never build points for sheep in WY, although by the time I could have had 10 they'll probably chance the system, so building and planning for change is 1 idea, but I wouldn't count on it.

I recently saw they have the NA25 now, I guess for those with almost all 29 but probably where $$ is limiting them, the desert sheep, the polar bear, etc...
