I assumed that was worse case, but wondered if they were lenient in some of these type of cases....
I'm not saying that they should be, but Ohio, for example does not penalize for a buck with 3" spikes. It can be tagged as a doe.
As Jim pointed out with the definition from the regs, an antelope buck has the dark cheek patch that distinguish them from the does so odds are you would get a ticket and the animal taken away as others have said. I can understand them being more lenient on a whitetail button buck or small spike since there aren't other considerable identifying marks that separate them.

True, but I've got WT in Ohio. But I'd didn't say I wouldn't hunt them in WY. ;)

That would be a tough one for me. If pronghorn season's still open, I think that would be a great time to explore the unit and find access areas. You'd probably have the ground to yourself.

I'd also really like to spend some time in Wyoming in November with a whitetail tag. I've taken 2 out there from different parts of the state, but more as incidental take after not finding decent mule deer.

Maybe find time to do both? Good luck with whatever you decide.
