Just bought a Honda generator EU2000i and it came with no oil in the box. But had some oil in it and all over the bottom. Anyone else have this problem with a Honda? I think the place I bought it from put it in but they laid it on its side at some point. Back to the store tomorrow.

Your post reminds me to get down to the repair shop to check on the generator. Good luck on the generator, probably like you said they laid it down. Hunt a great hunt.

I've sold construction equipment including Honda generators for over 20 years. I actually sold an EU2000 today. Honda generators don't get shipped with oil in them. They are started at the factory, then the oil is drained. They do come with a small bottle of oil. The oil is usually put in and the generator is started just before the generator is given to the customer. I agree that it most likely got tipped at some point. I would definitely take it back to the store where you purchased it. Honda doesn't normally authorize over the counter exchanges, but the store might do it anyway. Otherwise they should at least be able to get it cleaned up and running properly for you. Good luck.

I figured they ran them at the factory as a test run. But, they don't ship with a quart of oil to replace it. Every small engine I have bought came with the factory oil in a jug to add it. You must buy oil separate. I bought it at camping world, they said they would return it up to 90 days.

So store I bought it from ended up giving me a new one as the first one never stopped dripping oil from the bottom. Thanks sfjeeper
