Hey all i am in a little pickle. I need to buy some new gear for this up coming season but am having a hard time on which i should get first and what i should get all together. I need a spotting scope which im thinking of getting the vortex razor on top of getting the new nitrum bow. I also need a new pair of boots and im thinking of the Kenetrek Mtn boot. But also want to get the new kuiu icon pro 7200. If anyone could help on which they would put as priority. I dont plan to do any big hunts until September of next year but i do plan on turkey hunting which wont be needing any of this new gear. I am just trying to figure which route i should go. Been leading towards the new bow so i can get super fine tuned before i am in a time crunch. Please and thanks for any input!

Get the boots first so you can get them broke in. Then spotter so you can use during scouting and shed hunting. Then get the pack

Get the boots first. Nothing worse then hunting in new boots and getting blisters.

I covered prioritizing gear in the Back Country First Timers series in EBJ.

It really depends on want vs. need (terms you used), and what is the current state of the items you are replacing.

I.M.O. most of the items could be used immediately right off the shelf except for the boots and bow.
The boots need break-in and the bow needs to be dialed in before hunting.
While a spotter and a new pack are great to have unless you have good boots you will be miserable.
A 10 year old bow will still kill things just fine (in fact my first Mathews that I sold to one of the kids who worked for me just took a nice elk.).
Take a look at what is still doing the job and what isn't!!!!!!
