New to this forum don't know how I missed this one, I've been a subscriber to EHJ and EBJ for several years. I've been hunting for over 30 years. I mostly visit a archery forum but I also like to rifle hunt so it will be good to follow this forum. I like to try to hunt out of state every year I will be heading to Colorado for a DIY 3rd season deer hunt this year. I started gathering points several years ago for a few states, I used my Wyoming elk points two years ago and took a 312" gross bull with my bow. I have about a five or six year plan to use my points I don't hold out for a specific unit I just look at how many points I have and and try to figure out what are the best units I have a chance of drawing. Next year I will be just getting points as I have a Newfoundland moose hunt booked. Good luck hunting everybody .

Welcome. Long ago, I lived in Madison for 5 years and really enjoyed it. Spend a fair amount of time up near Tomahawk and Eagle River.

I did a study on B&C whitetails last week and was surprised by what a large margin WI has the most B&C entires for whitetails. Everybody expects it to be IL or IA.

Thanks guys, for those familiar with Wisconsin I live near Oshkosh. When I was young my grandparents had a place up near Lake Tomahawk so I spent some time up in the north woods, used to do some deer hunting up there but not lately. For B&C I have seen a couple that would be close during the summer but never during open season. I did bow hunt almost the whole month of November last year in Iowa on a lease and did see one booner but he was about a hundred yards away, passed up a ton of small bucks and did not fill my tag. I do believe that EHD hit the older deer pretty hard where I was but if half the young bucks I saw make it until I get a tag again it should be good. Hunted in some pretty bad weather last year but can't wait to do it again.
