Have been reading here for several years now. Figured it's time I am able to view the pictures.
My hobbies include hunting in the Midwest and in the western state of Wyoming and a few times each in Montana and South Dakota.
12 times antelope and/or mulies in WY. Deer regions b, c, e, j, m & r. Antelope units 21, 22, 27, 29, 30, 75, 106 and 115. Also building points hoping for an elk hunt of a lifetime (8 pts so far).
My second hobby is home Savage-smithing.
Love the versatility of Savage rifles and have done many builds for family and friends. Currently on a 6.5 Creedmoor marathon, working up loads for number three.
I will keep on lurking here and may interject a comment or two if I feel I can help someone.
It will be nice to view the photos now.
I also want to thank the members here for their wealth of expertise & knowledge.
Randy

Welcome to the forum Randy. I'm in Two Harbors, where are you located. I am leaving on my 17th western hunt in early Sept., and have reluctantly succumbed to my wife's wishes to not go alone anymore. Reliable partners are sure hard to find, though I have found a few, but they are usually "once in a lifetime" guys. This time I'll travel with a sister, and it will be her first time backpacking in the mountains.

Hi all,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Catahoula12 & CrimsonArrow,
Small world I was born in Brainerd (the maternity houses were full in Aitkin). My hometown was Tamarack.
RICMIC, again small world one of my son's and two grandkids live in Two Harbors. They live up on the hill by the rifle range. I live just outside of Hibbing.
I didn't fair well in the draws this year, but did draw an antelope tag (WY 22) second choice. I will be going solo this year. My wife doesn't like it either.
Last year I made two trips, 1 for lope in WY 75 & the second trip with two of my son's and two grandsons for mulie's in WY region R. We had a ball and I was with both grandsons when they clobberred their first mule deer bucks. They both made 1 shot DRTs with my rifle a 6.5/257 Bob AI (a savage 110). That by far was the highlights of all of our 2017 hunts.
Thanks again for the warm welcomes,
Randy

Randy, I was a cop in Two Harbors for 25 years, and am a high school trap team coach that spends a lot of time at that Gun Club. So, I know most of those kids. Send me a PM, and we can look down the road and perhaps team up in the future. Rick

Welcome to the forum! Originally from Barron Wi. Just southeast across the river a bit.
Again an ever shrinking world. I went to college in Rice Lake. I lived in the Solon Springs area for over 25 years.
How did you end up in WY if I may ask?
I retired last fall and my wife and I have thought about making a move to Wyoming.

I also went to college in Rice Lake.
Long story, but owned a bunch of rental homes, had a cash crop operation, and and a descent full time job, but just felt like God was pulling me else where. Applied for jobs like mine for about a 1 1/2 years, then the interview for the job I have happened, and there was no doubt in my mine it was the one, the place.

mnhoundman,
Thanks for the offer. This will be my fourth trip to A22. What I have learned it is a madhouse on opening day! Only hope my "honeyhole" can produce for me again. I camp from my home made pickup camper. All the hunting I do is on foot. Not a "trophy" hunter but love hunting and eating lopes.

Hello RICMIC,
I tried to pm you but said mailbox was full.
I hope it saved a draft for me because typing on these phones is a pita. If you get it cleared pm me.
Thanks,
Randy
