Hello All,

I am born and raised in ND and grew up in a hunting family, it was a tradition! I have hunted just about everything ND has to offer except moose and bighorn, they are tough tags to draw. My love is mule deer hunting, in the early 70's tags were pretty easy to get but now they are a tough draw. I live in whitetail country and like to hunt them as well but mulies still rank #1 in my book.

I yearly hunt bear and muzzleloader deer in Minnesota, up until the EHD outbreak in NW Nebraska I hunted there yearly as well, wolf in Ontario last fall, all DIY hunts. I have a really hard time paying someone to hunt for me, it lacks the challenges and reward I enjoy. I also am an avid bird hunter, love cranes and geese, bowhunter as well, just wish I had more time.

Hobbies are basically anything outdoors, horses (we raise and show them) and of course family!

Here is my 2014 muley, widest one do date taken on public land. Was hunting solo so don't have any real good pix.

My son finally drew a ND mule deer tag this year after 8 years of trying and we came out okay on this public land hunt.
My son graduates from college in December and he is moving on after that so I feel very blessed to have had the time to spend with him on this hunt, he even used my old Ruger .270 / Weaver K4 combo that I bought used when I was 14, there was no way was I going to tell him no when he asked to use it.

We glassed this buck for quite a while from about a mile off where he had some does locked up in a steep draw. We got to within about 125 yards and watched him for another couple minutes before he decided he was going to shoot it, one shot and about a 20 foot downhill slide and it was over.

I will remember this hunt forever!

Great ND deer! Your buck does look pretty wide, what was the outside spread on that pig?

Thanks guys, no wolf had two coming into a bait about 200 yards out and should have shot but figured they were committed to the bait. At about 125 they veered off into the woods and didn't show again. Bird in the hand I guess! Oh well had a blast, did it ourselves, and got educated.

Welcome. Couple of nice muleys. What part of ND are you in? I'm in the Tioga area.
