Hi everyone,

My name is Justin. I'm currently stationed at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, MT. I'm married and we just had a baby girl in March. I was born and raised in Guam and went to school in Hawaii. I come from a fishing (Spearfishing, rod and reel, throw net) background. I'm currently looking to go bow hunting and rifle hunting for the first time in my life. Montana is beautiful and I love being outdoors. I've never seen snow or been in snow before. I'm soliciting advice from those who are willing to share their knowledge. I understand experience and in the field learning is crucial, but a step in the right direction definitely helps.

Anyways, I'm starting to build up my gear selection slowly by hawking the classifieds on AT, camofire, eBay, and Amazon. My list of current gear includes:
Obsession Evolution set at 60lbs, Tikka 300wm rifle,Vortex diamondback binos, Sitka base layer pants (camofire), ASAT llano LS shirt (close out special), Vaprtrek boots (uninsulated), wool socks, and a kryptek Valhalla shirt, a surplus Gore-tex jacket, and a Garmin 64s GPS.

Thanks in advance for any advice or directions you can point me in. I'm not looking for anyone's secret spots as I know too well how fishing spots get overcrowded by loose lips.

Thanks!

Justin

Thanks sneakypete! Thanks for the support. My buddy told me some good things about the Denton area. I won't divulge it here lol.

Welcome. You may want some insulated boots for that Montana late fall hunting. Be out there in late Oct. and again in mid-late Nov myself this year. Good luck, have fun, thank you for your service, and if you come through OR let some of us OR members know and we may get you out to fish.

Thanks Matt, it's definitely a different place than what I'm use to, but beautiful in a completely different way. We don't have mountains in Guam haha.
