Make sure you take a look at the lower point unit hunts. If you are thinking this might be your year it is something to consider.

I believe Wyo is in trouble if 87 is the best mule deer unit Wyo has to offer! I usually don't like to flair any feathers but strongly disagree with that statement! I agree that it would be a quality hunt experience due to few tags and neat country to hunt...but if you are searching for a true wall hanger B&C buck you might want to search elsewhere! I've spent a great deal of time in parts of that unit and it has HORRIBLE genetics. Lots of small to medium sized 3x's that are the norm. With that said, there are scattered decent muley bucks in 87 but it is a far cry from the best muley unit in the state! Yikes if it is!!!! There are other places in Carbon County where the genetics are a lot better...if they can survive enough rough winters and hunting pressure.

I've seen some great bucks there. I think 84 likely should have made the list as well but it's a tough hunt with the amount of private land.

If you haven't seen any big mulie bucks in #87, you're looking in the wrong places.

Guy will have his assessment for deer and antelope in May. I will post that up here when it comes around.

Yup. Every time it makes it onto this list the odds get worse.
on the other sideof that coin, in those units that don't make the list, the odds get a wee better.

is guy an evil genius?????????????? is there method to his madness?????????:D:cool:

Need Your Opinion

I'm from Ohio and hope to draw a tag in region D, planning to focus on hunt area 70. There will be four of us applying, are we wasting our time? Is there a different region we should consider?
