I'm kind of suprised to see as many people as I have on here from around Kamas. Just thought that it was kind of cool.

Well, you've got to be tough or a little dense to live in Kamas. About this time of year, I start thinking southern Utah looks pretty nice. The summer and fall makes up for all those long winter days.

But we don't have the inversion in winter, and the summers are bearable. We are also blessed to be so close to the Uintah's

I'm sure you have all heard this, but there are Giant mule deer in those foothills east of k. Giants!

Yep, I've heard it and even seen a couple "giants" come out of the hills east of Kamas. The Kamas valley is a beautiful place, but the winters can be brutal on growing mature animals...especially mule deer. I've lived here for most of my life and seen three of four winters where the herds have been decimated. On top of the hard winters, you have road kill, hunting pressure, predators (lions), and a few poachers. So it's an exception to see a mule deer get to maturity around here.

Yea and this winter killed all but two of the deer, and those two were hit on main street. Ha Ha. There are some good ones around, but they are few and far between now. I hope the DNR does something or there won't be any to enjoy.
