i was out hanging camera this last weekend for some mules and found a couple good antelope bucks that have to be drinking in a water hole i found but there is cattle in the same area and want to put a ground blind up but I'm sure the cattle will love to wreck the blind. So what is everybody doing when setting up a blind at a water hole around cattle? There really is no cover at all to hide in around the water. Is my best bet to put up 4 fence posts and put barb wire around the blind? It just sucks cause its a 1.5 miles in and can only access by foot.

ive had a tent trampled by cattle before. one of those electric bear fences would be easier than a barbed fence,

Just go for it blind only. I've set lots of blinds with cows and wild horses in the area only had one young bull decide I was in the wrong spot. Just make sure that you don't stake ropes out for them to get hung up in . I stake almost straight down with concrete stakes.

We have never had issues as long as we drive stakes/lines straight down with the tent style. Usually only put them out 1-2 weeks before we plan to sit them. We have had success sitting them the same day we put them up but the antelope are very jumpy.

Often they will leave it alone but sometimes they won't. I was on a windmill last year and I rigged some wood planks and pipe around the blind and they didn't bother it.

I talked to the rancher that puts his land into walk in and he says the cattle are curious and will probally wreck it and wouldn't recommend it. So I think im gonna start off by carrying the blind in and see how bad it sucks carrying it in a 1.5 miles every time.
Thanks for the reply's. If it wasn't such a long walk in I would probally set one up and just keep a good eye on it but just wont be able to get out there every day.
