The game and fish has come up with a plan and will hold a grizzly season in 2017. I'm pretty excited about this. It needs to happen. Just hope they have their ducks in a row with Idaho and Montana so they don't get it shut down. Resident tags will be $600 and NR tags $6000. Sounds spend until you research what it costs to hunt them in alaska. I guess it will depend what he outfitter will charge NR since most will be in wilderness areas.

There will be no Grizzly season in 2017.

They aren't delisted
There will be years of lawsuits prior to their final delisting
There needs to be a USFWS approved "recovery plan" prior to WY taking management control
There will be years of lawsuits regarding that management plan

Given WY's inability to get a Wolf season, the Grizzly is at least a decade away.

I agree, if they can't shoot a wolf I think it will take a little doing to hunt a grizzly. With a 6,000 dollar tag it's probably going to cost as much as Alaska if you need a guide, it's getting close to 5,000 for deer!
It's always about the money!! More, more more,!

its a step in right direction. I wouldn't be surprised if Idaho started grizz hunts before Wyoming. its getting ridiculous how many there are, and not just that there are a lot by they have no reason to be afraid of us. when I was a kid there were just a few units that fish and game warned there may be grizz in. every year the list gets bigger and bigger. before to long, if not already, grizz will be moving into northern Utah. I would not be surprised at all if there is already one or more there. a few years ago we found some fresh grizz track in southern part of unit 76, unit 76 borders Utah and Wyoming. time to start a hunt.

I saw a sow with 2 Cubs in 76 in September 2014. They'll be in Colorado and Utah sooner than later.
