GPS recommendations for onx's maps

Sorry if this is a topic that has already been covered but I'm looking for recommendations/reviews for GPS handheld devices and the usage of the onx maps. I already own the Garmin 60 but I find the screen is too small for my eyes to be able to see well. I'm hoping to find a handheld/portable GPS with a larger screen to make viewing easier. That will be it's primary purpose and maybe its only purpose. I've already stated my needs a easy to see screen and of course easy to use. Simpler the better as I consider myself Techno challenged. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone.

I have the garmin Oregon 600, I have a Montana & Colorado chips. I really like the Oregon 600, it's easy to use. Good luck on your decision.

Montana 650T here. great unit with a pretty large screen. I have used the OnXmaps WY chip in mine for the past 2 years and it works great.

Battery life with my Montana 650T is pretty good. I can usually get 2 days on a full charge. I don't leave mine on all the time however. I use a map and compass as well as my gps to navigate. They do have a 'sleep' mode which saves batteries too. Adjusting the backlight to a less bright setting helps save battery power too.
The website gives a battery life spec in hours for each gps unit.

Stevevan,
I would recommend the Montana 600 for an easy to read screen. Here is a link to our blog post about our top 5 units. http://www.huntinggpsmaps.com/blog/best-top-5-gps-units-2015#

I will warn against paying extra for the 't' on the units as this stands for the 1:100K topo (100 foot contour intervals), if you are planing on buying our onXmaps chip that will have a better 1:24K topo (40 foot contour intervals).

Let me know if you have any questions.

cheers
