GPS Chip for Wyoming

I heard someone mention a GPS chip (we were talking about hunting elk in wyoming) that shows public/private land boundaries.

Is there such a thing? Anyone have info on this? this would come in handy for some of the hunts I have planned in which private land boundries may be hard to recognize. I dont want any ranchers angry at my group. This could alleviate any issues like that if something like this chip exists.

I do most of my scouting / planning on google earth, and use Forest Service and BLM maps to determine boundries.

Hope someone has some info on this topic.

I use the map that bitterroot posted. I also have a cabelas app on my phone that has it too. It is extremely useful out here and I use mine on my gps all the time. It is extremely easy to use and has gotten me quite a few places I didn't know I could get!

wyoming fish and game has a chip you can buy for 100 bucks or something crazzy but might be a good investment.

Hey Jen I was just wondering if the cabelas app still works when you don't have service

Junior13 is right, it does not need a cell signal. It is a very detailed map and it has all the boundaries on it. It only costs $9.99 a year and to me you can't go wrong for that price. I used it a lot for shed hunting. It was nice to be able to sit at home the night before and be able to map out where I was going to go the next day just from my phone.

I must say..........I am more and more impressed with the openness and willingness to help others that I see on this site. Thanks a ton to all of you who responded. I just wish I had more info to help you all out! But it seems like you guys/gals are ahead of me in the western hunting timeline!!!!!!!! Maybe someday I will be able to return the favor with some advice/info/help to you too.

Luke, here is another option for you. I have no experience with it in Wyo yet, but I've used it plenty the last few years here in ND and it's a wonderful thing to have. I'm heading to Wyo this year for antelope and would not go without it, so I did upgrade to the Trax West + option....Includes many states, for a reasonable price.

Go to this page and purchase the update, it's listed under other maps.https://www.huntinggpsmaps.com/Web_Store/MapStore.php# From there it is just a simple download provided you have your original chip installed in the computer. I did have problems with the trial version when I tried to use VISTA so I used the wife's laptop with Windows7. Worked like a champ, now if I could figure out how to load it on the laptop, life would be great!

Thanks I figured it out, worked awesome for me, rather get it done in 30 minutes then send it off and not have it for archery antelope
