It's good to hear you are doing well CC. Keep at it. As far as the Rose Bowl goes, watch out for the Penn State train! LOL Should be a great game between two great schools and alumni. PSU fans travel well and I may know of some that will be there.

Not going to go for several reasons. My son will be in town with us for a couple of weeks during the holidays. We havn't seen him in a year and my wife doesn't want to miss time with him. I agree with that too. I am still recuperating from the surgery and have pt twice a week. One thing I've learned after this one is that I am older and it is taking longer to regain my stamina. After my daily walk (or treadmill time, depending on weather), I get pretty tired. I am 3 weeks out from surgery, and it is going to take more time than I'd like to feel ready to travel and really enjoy it. Right now my real goal is to be ready for an rv trip to California in late March for a regional cowboy shooting match. Will have to do a lot of practice (as I have not shot in 3 months!) to do to be competitive.

I'll be watching all the bowl games on tv at home with my son and a couple of friends, not all bad either!!! LOL

Glad you are progressing. I know that your drive and determination will serve you well during the healing process. Don't laugh, but yoga will help in your long term recovery. Besides some of those yoga instructors are pretty hot. Think about taking up handgun hunting. You can hunt with one side while the other is recuperating. Fight on!

I have one week left for pt and it has gone really well, much faster than anyone expected. I have full range of motion and almost no pain. Doing strength stuff now in pt.

Now the good news... I called the Dr and asked if he has an opening in Feb to do my other shoulder. Looks like Feb 28th will be the day. It took me 2 months to recover from the first one, so I expect about the same for the other one. That should have me pretty much healed up by the 1st of May, plenty of tome to get my irrigation stuff set up for the season. Looks like I can get in my hunts this fall also...hooray!

Stay tuned............

Glad you are doing well CC. Getting your other shoulder done soon will be great! Sounds like you will have most of your summer after you heal! Great news!

Getting my left knee replaced was the best medical decision ever. I've had it 10 years (H.S. B-Ball injury) and I can do anything I want with no pain, though my doctor has advised me against running or jumping.

My right knee had much of the medial meniscus taken out last year after I badly tore it in 2015 and I have pain with every step, though not as much when I get cortisone injections. Can't wait to get that knee replaced, but my insurance won't cover it fully until 2018.

Had a knee replaced 15 years ago and a replacement ankle on the same leg 2 1/2 years ago, both doing great. I think the shoulders will be fine too. Wonders never cease!

The wonders of modern medicine.

My brother in law had one knee replaced in 2012, the second knee in 2013, and a hip last year. We have started calling him the bionic man. He should have a shoulder done but he says enough is enough. But we'll see.

That's what I said, but it got so bad that I couldn't sleep at night w/o rx pain meds. Every time I stressed my shoulders, I got instant pain that could last for days. Got cortisone shots in each shoulder, but they only last a few months, the last ones didn't work at all.

He is just at the point that he has trouble sleeping. It could be worse but he won't admit it. He has has a couple of shots in it to help it along.

Tomorrow morning checking in at the hospital in Durango for my other shoulder (rt) replacement. Check in at 6am and the surgeon is supposed to start at 7:30. Should only be there overnight, home on Wed. I will start PT next week. Left one is really done great, full range of motion and no pain. Should be ready to do some fishing by May.
