Anyone willing to email or message about bow hunting unit 12,Colorado? I've read the posts about way too many hunters and such but from the continued number of elk killed there has to be some areas that are huntable.

Stop by our new members section and introduce yourself. Lots of good info and people hear, but we like to know you a bit better before we spill the beans.

Have you spoken with either of the game wardens from unit 12? East side of 12 will be higher and steeper (on avg). As you move west elevation gradually gets lower and that is the way the herds will move as the snow gets deeper. Good spots to hunt all over. Early season will be better than rifle seasons. Less people vs the Orange army that shows up for the rifle seasons.

Well I drew an archery tag for unit 12 but not sure about what your asking about the north of white river in 12/24 bdjmtn? No I haven't spoken to the game wardens. Was going to try to call one of the forest service offices and see if they could help at all. I will be out there for the first week of season and am leaning towards someplace in the eastern part, maybe near the flat tops. Would really like to find something closed to atvs just because I like to just hike in. So far all my hunting has been down in the over the counter area unit 26.

I've hunted there a few times. Never opening week of archery. If you don't want ATVs the flat tops is your best bet.

PM me if you have questions.
