It would be a perfect gun IF it was a 9 like the consumers asked for. With that said. My best friend bought one and sold it a week later. It's the same size as an mp shield but a .380. It's a FAIL in my book. I hope glock listens to it's feedback and produces the same pistol but in 9mm. I know you want to know feedback from someone who has bought and an obviously I haven't. I have however handled it outside a store and hope it helps. If someone has purchased it, they might be a little bias :)

I haven't bought one, but would consider it. I played with one at SHOT, and it was typical Glock quality. For a pocket pistol design, I liked the form factor better than other tiny .380s.

There are suitable .380 loads available to save your ass if you need.

I would also like to see a similarly sized 9mm.

Thanks for such an original and informative post, canvsbk!

Anyway, like everyone else, I also wanted it to be a 9. Around SHOT time, I heard that it was bigger than what everyone expected and that it was the same size as the Shield. So, that bummed me out a little until I seen one in a store about three days after it was released. I was surprised at how small it was due to everything I had heard. When I got home, I compared it to my Shield and the 42 is noticeably smaller. It may not be as small as the LCP but like BB said, I like the fact that you can actually hang on to the thing.

I carry and it is a 9mm, no sense carry a pea shooter. If you ever have to use it, you don't want to pizz them off, you want to do the job!

I carry a KelTec PF9. Never been much of a Glock fan and really like wheel guns better. But what I am using now fits the bill perfectly for me.

I live with a Glock on my side. I trust my life to them. That is not an overstatement. I have a G22 that I would estimate 15000-20000 rounds have gone through. The Glock "Safe-Action" pistol is a fine battle weapon system.

It doesn't matter one bit if they have "plastic" parts. They work, manly or not, and that's what counts.

As far as .380 vs. 9mm. Well, that has horse has been beaten long after death. The truth is the 9 has a little more velocity and more energy. There are better rounds than either for self defense, IMO, and both are better than nothing when you need them.
