Glassing in one unit and hunting in another?

In Wyoming some of the units that I have been looking at offer a reasonable chance at glassing animals from one unit to another.

Is camping and glassing on or near unit boundary, then making a stalk into the unit you actually have the tag for legal? Shooting obviously from within the unit that you have the tag for of course.

I know this sounds kinds dumb but I just want to make sure.

I would assume as long as you didn't shoot anything in the unit your not supposed to be in you should be ok but I just want to check.

Glassing from up high would be great but a unit I am looking at splits on the ridge.. So I am sure hunters wanting to hunt both units are walking right past on another.

I would talk with the GW. While technically you're not hunting that unit, a GW will see you with a rifle and tag for another unit and may well have some words for you and may be able to cite you for hunting a wrong area.. Make some calls and get an answer from the right source.

I wouldn't worry about it unless something happens.

If your rifle is in a case while you are glassing there shouldn't even be a question about it.

Technically if they wanted to push it you wouldn't even be able to drive through a different unit to get to the one you are hunting if that was the law.

To my knowledge it is. Just have to kill the animal in the unit you have the tag for.
Same here. In Nv as long as you hunt and shoot the animal in the unit you have the tag for you can camp wherever you want. I would bet tho that if your glassing from the wrong unit and a warden see you I'm sure your getting questioned.

Probably not wise to load the rifle until you are in your unit if you are hunting border country.

Hunt partner was on a county road, glassing from private onto back side of public 1 mile over from truck. GW stopped and said hi - asked the question and got the answer along with a view of the OnXmap app on a cell phone. He cautioned hunter and kept going.
