Anyone here been to Costa Rica?

Wondering about the fishing, beaches, jungles, critters/birds, hot springs, tropical waterfalls, and overall attitude of the folks there. Mainly wanting to know if there is anything to be wary of. Also if anything that is a "must see". Or you gotta go here...

Thanks.

My wife and I went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. It was a blast. Everything went smooth. We stayed on the Pacific side. All black sand beaches, volcanic. As far as the fishing went, I only did some hand line fishing from a boat tour. Caught a lot reef type fish. I do remember a lot of guided fishing trips that were available. My father in law, use to go down there with his brother fishing, every year, and had some great trips. Overall, it felt safe and the people were great. Not much info, but hopefully it helps! Oh….and it was really cheap as far as costs go.

Seems like a wonderful place.

"The Costa Rican congress enacted a ban on hunting as a result of the petition in 2012, and the ban has now passed into law. The law makes it illegal to hunt or poach with various associated fines in place and prison time. Hunters caught in the act will face $3,000 in fines and up to four months in prison. "

From what I know Costa Rica really isn't very much of a hunting mecca to begin with as far as animals to hunt.

They do have collard peccary (South American javelina), coatimundis, jaguars, iguanas, and a few other animals.

But I would image that most are on the endangered list.
