Gila Outfitters, drew 16A rifle

Anyone have past hunts with some guides in the Gila? Drew 16A second rilfe, looking hard at a couple of outfitters. Namely Mick Chapel with New Mexico Professional Big Game and Davey Mathews with David Matthews Outfitters...

Elkhunter, I hunted with Beaverhead 2x and had a good guide which made for a good hunt. Some of these larger outfitters in the Gila have inexperienced guides who have never hunted the area they are guiding, having said that Mick offers a great hunt.

I'd personally go DIY but that's me. For the price of the outfitter and tips I could hunt there a second time on a landowner tag. You have one of the tags with the highest success rates in the state.

I spoke with a few outfitters, the landowner tags they have are going 10-12k. That's a big chunk of money, I think I will stick to trying to get lucky in the draw. If I had time to scout, I would do it DIY too. But I don't and it's to good of a tag to simply show up and try it out in a new area.
