That is a nice fish in those pics. Its a timely thread that got me more motivated to get out on the water. It was some of the best walleye fishing I have had in a while at the Keyhole. Pretty steady bite all day with a couple that were good size. Super nice day too.thanks, there's been some nice ones posted im sure there's lots more to be posted. this has been the best fishing years I have had in several several years. while the Nevada boys are still slobbering over the amazing tags drawn we can fish![]()
Ivorytip this is exactly what I prefer...trout fishing on a creek or river with preferably a flyrod in hand.im headed up on Tuesday for a day of mountain creek fishing! should be fantastic, waters are open year round now due to over pop of rainbows are taking over cutthroat pop. I cant keep no cuts but ill be sure to take pics of some of those big spawners.
What time of year and where do you fish the Madison?Holy smokes! There is a ton of fat fishes on here. I have tried the Madison a couple times, but nothing like that. That is pretty cool.
I thought I was doing pretty good with the 14 and 16 inchers, lol. We went inside the Park a couple of times and a couple of years ago we were making pretty regular trips to Spokane, so we made a few stops at the easier access areas around Bozeman. Were you offering advise? What time of year and where do you fish the Madison?
Indeed they are!Caseyu, are those fish out of Pyramid lake?
My knowledge of the river is mainly from between the lakes(Quake and Hebgen) and then all the way down to Varney Bridge. Pine Butte, West Fork, Lyons Bridge, Windy Point, Palisdades, Wolf Creek, Ruby, Macatee, Story Ditch, and then Varney. If you have a drift boat then it can really be nice but if not I could tell you of some easy access points that get fished but still have good fish all through there. Hit me up next time your heading that way(hopefully soon) and I will give you a spot to try. Also if you have rowing experience you can rent a drift boat in Bozeman or a raft at West Fork. Raft maybe better if no rowing experience.I thought I was doing pretty good with the 14 and 16 inchers, lol. Late fall. All winter and early spring. It's just like eagle. The worse weather generally better fishing. I tell people there are 2 secrets. 1 you will never make the fish bit and 2 when they decide to you have to have your shit in the water! Best of luck at eagle it's been great weather up hereMan, i have to fish that place. I'll be heading up to eagle lake in a few weeks, though nothing like those. What time of the year did you catch those?
