First Rifle weather looking good

Looks like it?s going to be cold and snowy start for first Rifle in most of the state, I?ll Be chasing bulls in the Gunnison basin. Who else is hunting first season?

Looking closely at the weather. 2nd season is drawing near. 2 good things i see right now, less people in the woods 1st rifle and accumulating snow in high country possibly pushing down for 2nd.

I’m not hunting first but I live in unit 75 and mountains got a nice snow. I’m really wishing I had a tag because it’s going to be perfect weather to chase elk around the hills. Good luck to all

Good bit of snow in the San Juans and the La Platas in SW Colo.

Did the Grand Mesa get any snow?

Yep they got snow. According to the snotel site Mesa Lakes got 3" but the further east you went the smaller the total.

Mc Clure Pass only got 1"

I will be hunting 1st season and just got back from setting up the camper. Very, very muddy and some snow up higher. Should be a great hunt.
