First Lite and Russel

Would first lite layers and Russel outer wear be a good combination.

I would think so, I don't have anything from Russel but I have a fair amount of First Lite and really like it for a base layer.

Lot of Russel stuff on sale at Gander lately, might want to give it a look if you are near one.

Some of the new Russell stuff is pretty nice and reasonably priced, and the First Lite products are great but way overpriced IMO. You can search through Backcountry.com-type websites and buy high quality merino base layers for half the price or less. As hunters, sometimes we forget that hikers came up with most of the high end hunting gear long before our industry caught up - it's just not in camo (which truthfully - is overrated also!)

I also have been wanting to try the first lite stuff but 150-160 for base layers just seems crazy to me. Maybe if i had plenty of money i wouldnt think twice. I was looking at some of the same things on campsaver.com and campmor.com and couldnt figure out why first lite would be any better.
