Desert hunt. one unit is any bull all august, the adjoining unit is cow all august, rifle. helps keep elk off of hay fields during harvest time. cow hunt has to be with in a mile of a cultivated field.

There are open seasons starting today for cow elk here in NV too. Some areas just archery, other areas any legal weapon.

carsonelk.JPG maybe this worked. there were some big bulls and part of me wishes I had bought that bull tag but just not the same as hunting in mountains with a bow.

Very cool! I hope to get my daughter her first buck this year.
my daughters 11, she could've hunted with me last year but it just isn't her thing. ha she love going hiking with me but when it come to killing... no way. I have to wait till next fall to have my son actually hunt with me for his own game. I hope your daughter gets one that beats your wife big one you guys are going to shoot this fall!!

last few days its been in the mid to upper 90's........ today is no diff. she was small enough we just hung her in the shade in back yard and butchered and wrapped her up in a little over an hour. chest cavity full of ice with a sleeping bag over top for the short ride home. to hot to let hang without a walk in fridge.
