Hello Eastmans forum,
I am here today because my son has just turned 13 and want's to go on a hunting trip with his grandfather. My father could never get me into hunting. I went a few times as a child and young adult but it just wasn't for me. But I am keen to see if "Tom" my son will enjoy it. I am looking into getting him his first bow but being as I don't know much about them I was hoping you guys could help me out. My budget isn't really a problem but safety is. I'm looking for something strong enough and safe enough for a beginner. My father has experience with bows (more experience with rifles) so he will be able to show my son the ropes.
Out of interest, what age did you guys get into hunting? and did you guys get you kids involved? if so at what age? I'm genuinely interested in how many people got into this at a younger age. And do you approve of hunting at a young age?
If there is any other information you guys need just let me know and I will get it added on. Really looking forward to speaking with you all and getting my son his first bow.
