Depends on what your looking for. Trophy wise the central areas like 72-75 have been pounded, and last years bad winter (long) took its toll and the good ol game and fish didnt adjust numbers. You cant have a trophy area with an quota of over a thousand antelope taken out every year like area 73. 74 is a hard to draw tag would require max points to draw and in my opinion there are good goats but lots of private for you to try and find a landowner to hunt on. The central areas I stay away from because of this magazine and the great hole that is casper. Everybody and there cousin in casper hunts those areas, and literally the last time I hunted 73 three years ago was a freaken circus. No thanks, stick with 48 or 74 if you have to I would also look into areas around rawlins, and rock springs know several people who kill B&C bucks out of there every year including the 84in I killled last year. Just my .02 and every one else out there stay away from those 70's areas there are antelope every where in the state, but if your looking for trophies look somewhere else.

I hunted 74 last year, 2011, for the first time and shot a very good goat there. lots of walk in areas to hunt. I've hunted 46 in the past and there are some good goats there but not many hugh ones. 46 is close to 48. you should have no problen shooting a 14 incher in these units but you will have to look hard and long to kill a BC buck in any of them.

I would agree with the doc, the units right around Casper get pounded by locals, have way too many tags, and are overhyped. I would
look at some of the units further north of there or south of there as doc mentioned. If you are just looking to get a goat, it is hard to
find a unit in Wyoming that doesn't have any goats.

believe 1 state record came out of 73, I'm sure a lot of locals hunt this unit, but I bet many shoot the 1st buck they see too. It's a big unit, a lot of public land, some private too I'm sure you can get on.

took a doe in 74, didn't see squat for bucks/does, was hard to get that doe on public land!

could pay a trespass fee on many of those eastern WY units...

don't know anything about 48 but from reading these posts I think that might be the unit to pick amongst these 3 units...
