Is it legal for us to bring our own firewood from Missouri to Wyoming?
That is very possible to not spread bugs and what not! You can usually find firewood on the national forest in great supply after the pine beetles came thru.

I recall that most states don't want you to bring fire wood from out of state due to the potential to spread tree diseases or pest bugs. I betting that you can find local WY source of seasoned wood near your destination in WY. I see some local general stores and so forth around NM that advertise fire wood for hunters and campers. You probably will end up paying more for this wood. Call the district office of the National forest that you'll be visiting. I bet they have a suggestion.

If your wanting to bring a fuel source from home, buy a few bags of wood stove pellets.

The Midway Mall in Big Piney usually sells bundles of firewood for campfires and stuff. On the Pinedale end of that unit you are closer to the National Forest, but the general store that used to be Faler's (and will always be Faler's in my head because I can't remember the new name) usually sells bundles, too. If not the Sinclair gas station usually does. They are kindof spendy, but probably handier than running up to the mountains to scavenge for wood. Both of those places have hunting supplies, too. The National forest is pretty close to Big Piney and Kemmerer also. I guess pretty close is kindof a relative term. Watch out for burn bans, though. I haven't been paying attention to burn bans in that area. It seems weird because they had snow last week, but sometimes they still restrict fires to established campgrounds.

Thank you. We just want a little fire in the tent stove to keep the chill down. So there's snow on the ground up there huh? That should be fun.

I think it melted, but it got cold last week. The forecast says lows in the 30's for down there, so it will probably get pretty cold at night. Good luck. That sounds fun.
