FIRE, Tex Creek

Wow that's a bad deal. I've hunted that area before. I don't think it's the same as the fire by the photos. But close to it.

Also a fire burning close to Victor, ID...I work powerlines on that side of the hill currently, and we are monitoring its movement closely.

yeah fires everywhere, its headed right towards fall creek and swan valley area, my fingers are crossed.

the winter range is destroyed it looks like from the maps, all those 5,000 plus elk and thousands of deer and a ton of moose will have to find somewhere to feed come winter. will be interesting how this plays out. come on rain!

this is a bad ordeal, should make for some outstanding deer and elk hunting this year but this is a lot of prime grazing land that is destroyed. and it was "out" a week ago! im sure there will be lots of volunteers needed during next couple of years trying to restore this place, not to mention fences needing to be rebuilt. stay in contact with any volunteer service and help where you can, will be very interesting to see what all that wild life that depends on that wintering land does this winter when they show up to an ashy mess, I have a feeling the lowlands from Idaho falls to Ririe will be flooded with wintering game this winter.

My sister has a moose tag for this area. She and her husband had 6 or 7 trail cameras set out and all of them have been taken (firefighters?). Needless to say, they're pretty bummed out and have moved on to Plan B. Hopefully they can find a big moose. Anyone have any other ideas?
