Finally Measured My Antelope

I took this antelope in 1990. I only had the Taxidermist put it on a wall plaque. He told me at the time, that is a pretty good one, you should mount it. I said I'm waiting until I get a "big" one. Years later, I took the wall plaque with me on a antelope hunt and took it in to him with one I had shot on this trip so he could use the cape and told him to mount it. He laughed a lot and said I knew you'd be back.
One of the local taxi's just measured it for me and it is 81 1/4. Guess I'd better take a good picture of it!

35 years of shrinking and still over 80... Great buck!

The other thing that I remember about that trip is that my Dad took one that was bigger than mine. I had the classical heart shape, dark black horns with ivory tips. Dad took them home and I never saw them again, don't know what happened to them. I have a 35mm slide somewhere in my collection of a couple of thousand slides!

Nice! That dude looks mad. Just think you missed 35 years of enjoyment. The two bucks I have mounted are in direct view from my office desk. I think about antelope hunting every day at work.
