Whats funny is every single incident described above is a misdemeanor... So until we start comparing felonies, Im against it...

I'm going to make an assumption, which I know is dangerous, but I propose that most of us have heard stories of things getting western pretty fast in the field, when people overlap hunting territory and have disputes over game. All my bow hunting friends carry side arms while archery hunting and several have been stuck in some pretty heated situations while hunting. You never know who, you never know where, and you never know when these situations may arise. I know for my safety I'll walk away but you never know who your turning your back to. I don't think that I can tell if someone is dangerous and certainly all felons are not dangerous I just feel caution is best for situation that can escalate very fast and weapons are involved.

My brother became a felon because he shot windows out with a BB gun when he was 18. It was a lot of windows, hence the Felony. His 17 yr old companion that rolled over got basically nothing.
My cousin was 21yo when he hooked up with a "18yo" on spring break 1 time, no intercourse. He was the most straight laced guy I know, never drank/partied in high school, never got in trouble for anything ever, and now a sex offender/felon. She wasn't 18 obviously but she told him that.

A short story.

I had a hunting buddy who was a real doper when he was young. Then he got caught. Nothing scared him...death by drugs, jail, whatever, he just didn't care, except for one thing. When he went in front of the judge whom he had known since he was a little kid, the judge said "You have two choices, go to jail or stop the drugs." My friend said he was gonna opt for taking the jail time until the judge said 'If I convict you and you go to jail you will be a felon. This means that you can never hunt again for the rest of your life."

My friend never touched drugs again and he's now pushing 60 years old. That was a smart judge, he knew my friends Achilles heel.
