Didn't know where to put this question. Would like some advice on feet if anyone could help. After hiking for 3-4 miles the bottom of my feet feel like they are on fire to the point I don't think I can go anymore. Gets worse going down hill. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Guys

Sounds like you have some problems with the arch of your boot. Are they new boots? Does it have an arch insert in the boot? Those are the places I would look first. I bet you need better arch support, and may need to see a "foot doc" or someone who does custom fitting for arch care.

I used to have sore calves and feet . Used to wear danners and cotton socks. Now wear kennetreks, super feet insoles, silk sock liners, and high quality socks. My feet thank me so much.

It doesn't matter how good of boot or how broke in they are. I am flat footed. I wear Crispis , kenetreks, and good socks

I am also flat footed, and at times they have been painful. The hard sole work boots are really killer on my feet, but the good inserts and socks help when hiking in good boots. I will have to look into the Crispis, kenetreks stuff. I haven't heard of them. There is thread on here about plantar fascitis or however you spell that. It has some good tips, too. Stopping and stretching my feet has probably been the best help for me, plus trying to get my arches and ankles stronger.

That's what my main setup is also. I do use smart wool socks with my kenetreks and I also wear vasque breeze boots in the warm seasons. Change my socks after each outing, even in the middle sometimes. And. Always let the feet breath if its warm enough. Go with a sturdier boot if u got weight on ur back. I've had blisters all over my feet from boots to long runs in running shoes and kenetreks super feet, smart wool are the best. Just bought a new pair of kenetreks, I liked them that much. And one last thing, elevate ur feet when ur taking a nap on the hill or back at camp between outings(with them breathing if at all possible). Keeps ur feet from swelling and the acid building up. That's why I like tight silk liners for compression not an additional layer.

All good advice. Every year I learn something new about my feet, boots and fit. Where are you getting hot spots? Knowing makes a big difference in the advice.
