Ok I am looking to take my 13 yeAr old daughter on her first out of state hunting trip. I have one point short of max for antelope she has 2 going into the draw. I would like to draw a good unit with good access. Not hung up on a huge trophy Area as we most likely would never draw. I have never killed a goat myself. Always hunted elk. Any thoughts on a good unit we could draw this year. If we could draw a deer tag in same area that would be awesome. Same points for deer

With that many points you have plenty of options. This site has a nice compare units function. The harvest and draw data is old, but it does have good public land info.

http://diyhuntingmaps.com/p/wy-antelope-statewide-unit-map.html.

I'd wait till Spring and see what the winter did, then focus on selecting an area. The antelope and deer application deadlines are 5/31 this year. If you have a subscription, the MRS will offer great info. If you don't, wait for the WY data to come out, then get the trial access on-line, if it is still offered, and review the MRS. There will be numerous options for you to consider, with all the points you two have.

Tim made good points about waiting a bit to see how everything shakes out. I'm assuming you are splitting your points with her. You should have a lot of options for antelope, and maybe a few for deer. Are you opposed to paying extra to put in the special draw for deer?

I'm not sure if you have enought pts between the two of you to draw unit 64, but that would be my suggestion. I never seen any 80 inchers, but there are plenty of goats to keep you busy and little hunting pressure. Happy to provide all the info you need if you can get the tags. Good luck.

Thanks for all the help. Like I said earlier I am not hung up on 80 inch goats. I doubt I would know one if I saw one. Just want a fun hunt to help hook the daughter. Plenty of public and lots of antelope. I will buy her a doe tag to get some extra time behind the scope. Yes we will be combining points we will avg out at 4.5 I think

64 takes 7+ points nit drawing with points averaging.
I'd take a look at 75 myself

Some of the units with lots of access have antelope that are pretty wary. I hunt 93 quite a bit and 95 actually has some nice bucks. The goats will be wild for a bit after the opener but I've hunted in October and not even seen another soul hunting for goats and they're fairly calmed down by then

Dont waste your points on 63 it has been pimped to death by all the mags, way too many tags, also heard the Pathfinder is no longer allowing hunting.

67 is a good choice, some of those 70 series units are good too 75, 73...I don't know what it takes for points now but 114 is worth looking at too.
