Eye glasses

I'll ask my doc too. I haven't been able to wear them before because I have dry eyes, but maybe the new ones are good enough that I can do that. It sure would be nice.

Same here. Sure would be nice to put them in once a month.

I have always had dry eyes but have been wearing contacts for 26 years. Early on they were horrible, my eyes stayed basically red. Now-a-days I don't have any issues. Only difference between me and the others, I can not leave them in for an extended amount of days. If I put new ones in, I can go 3 or 4 days but my eyes are begging for me to take them out. Typically I take them out nightly and where my glasses. The re-wetting drops are good and helpful but I have better luck with Visine AC.

Once a month? I tried contacts many years ago and had them for a year. Just did not like putting them in and out so much and dealing with the dust.

I don't recall ever have any dust issues. I don't think it would be any different than any other person whether you have contacts in or not. Like you said....interesting.

I'm really glad to hear you are able to wear them. I'm not enough motivated to endure discomfort to wear them. I just get tired of two things - only having what can be seen through the middle of my lenses be sharp, which I think causes me to miss or be slow seeing things others see who have a complete visual field that is sharp, and dealing with the sweat. I'm going to try the extremely high water retention ones and see what happens.

On the Visine, I had a pharmaceutical rep that called on eye doctors tell me one time he wouldn't use Visine because it causes the blood vessels to shrink when they are trying to provide healing to the eyes. I guess getting the red out is the point, but he didn't think it was healthy.

I wear multi focals from the time I get out of bed until I get back into bed. I did have a problem with blurry pins but solved it 100% by buying a magnifying lens for my sight. Feather Vision is the brand name I have one on both my hunting bows. Not sure why it works so well but it does! You should check into it you won't be disappointed

Ya, I was a firm believer that Visine was not good. A buddy of mine never takes his contacts out and I mean for like a whole year. Couple years ago I saw him use Visine and I thought he was crazy. He told me that it doesn't burn and his eyes always felt better. So reluctantly I tried it for the rest of that hunting weekend. Too my surprise, my eyes felt better than before when I was using the re-wetting drops. With the re-wetting drops, I felt like I was adding them 4-5 times a day. With the Visine it was only once in the morning and that was it. Since then, I have tried multiple Visines and Visine AC for seasonal itching and redness relief has worked the best. Not only gets the red out but makes my eyes feel better. Maybe I have allergies in the eyes if that is possible. I don't use it daily outside of hunting season but use it every now and again. I talked with my doc and he didn't say not to use it. He says if my eyes feel better with Visine over re-wetting, then use Visine.

I wore contacts for a while and they were just not for me. The problem with the dust is that it gets trapped bedind the contact and is very uncomfortable. When you get dust in your eyes not wearing contacts your tears wash away the dust pretty quickly.

Ya if it gets behind the contact you definitely need to remove it. If I get dirt in my eyes, the tears do what tears do. In my 26 years of wearing them I have been lucky to only have dust behind the contact a handful of times. All in all I wish I didn't need them but in the end they are not a hassle for me.

Are those glasses or contacts?
I just made a contact appointment for Monday and need to be loaded with information.

Got an appointment next month to try the newer, high water content contacts and see if that will work. I'm pretty excited about the prospect.

I wear glasses. They don't give me too much of a problem and I like the added eye protection while hunting. Had a few eye injuries when I was younger that were pretty bad. Haven't had one since I started wearing glasses.

I wear glasses every day of my life and between them and my ballcap there have been numerous times they have saved me from eye injuries while hunting.

Good point. But, you can could always have a wide field of vision that is sharp because of contacts and just wear quality nonprescription sunglasses with a very light tint for protection.

I have an astigmatism and I have to wear weighted contacts. Completely annoying. So I don't wear them. But you have a good point.

I just got glasses two years ago and had the same issue as the OP. I went to the dominant eyesight peep eliminator.

It works for me even though I haven't harvested any game since the change. I still have the issue of glasses fogging up on cold mornings with a facemask though.
