Encouraging Youth

My 16 year old son came home from school the other day with a new duck call. Apparently his Ag teacher had a champion duck caller come in and give calling demonstrations. They also gave each student a new call! I though this was really cool so I sent the teacher a thank you email- wish more people in education were encouraging kids to get involved. I'm not sure where the funding came from but you can bet DU had a lot to do with it.

Nice! I did this a few years ago, for The Safari Club. Had about 50 kids in the class, I cut all the reeds for them, then took the calls in dissembled. I talked about calling and the parts of the call. Then we put our calls together and learned to make some noises on them.

You'd be shocked at how much 50 kids tooting on duck calls sounds like 1,000 mallards feeding.
