Well we drew unit 35 Type-1. There is a general deer season at the same time as our hunt. My question is, would it be worth it to draw the general deer tag as well? Are there any decent deer in that area? I have been looking at maps on OnX and there looks like a lot of roads which may make it difficult to get away from the crowds, but there are a few areas that may be a little more difficult to access. I have never hunted the Bighorns, so any information is greatly appreciated.

Be prepared for a lot of deer hunters, I would get there early and have elk scouted for opening day.
Thank you ScottR. We are planning on getting there a couple days early. We may do a summer scouting trip too, but not sure if the Elk will still be in the same areas in October. In the past Type-1 hunters could archery hunt the second half of September, is that still the case?
