I have seen lots of elk on Gold Bluff Beach above Arcata. The come out of Redwood NP and spend lots of time in the dunes there.

The beaches down on the lost coast are covered in deer tracks. I think they like to lick the salty rocks and maybe eat the seaweed. Its kinda fun hunting near the beach.
