Hey guys, I'm considering putting in for a type 1 license for this area since I'm right on the edge of points to draw this but wonder how the public access is? I did find there are a few walk in areas but per the G&F site the access is listed as poor and the MRS list it as fair.

No on ground experience here but I have looked into hunting there a bit. There are some public access points but a guy really needs to find a landowner or two that allows them to cross private to reach forest ground on the east side of the valley. Without this it looks like a pretty tough hunt.
It looks like this area will take 4+ points (in regular pp draw) next year to draw if the unsuccessful applicants apply again. 8 people with 3 points didn't draw and there are only 7 permits. If you do special, it looks like 3 should get you draw. This area also allows General tag hunting starting October 15th. The advantage to the limited quota tag being that you can hunt October 1st.
