If you do both you need both. If you don't do both you need both. I only archery hunt but receive both. One reason is MRS. The other reason is I love reading people's adventures.

If you want the MRS for all the western states, both. If not, pick one, be happy with 1/2 the states in the MRS, and ignore the bees...

I'm primarily an archery hunter so I'm slightly biased to EBJ, but truly enjoy reading EHJ as well. Subscribing to both isn't that expensive in the grand scheme of things - considering what many people are willing to pay for a cell phone & plan, satellite TV, or a cup of fancy coffee these days. And, as others have said, you'll want both to get all the MRS info.

I get both for several reasons. I like the story content being more like setting around a camp fire swapping stories, than like an actual "article". The photo quality is second to none. Then the MRS. But the format is what the deciding factor for me is. I like to finish an article without flipping to page 54 for a few lines, then on to page 72 for a paragraph, then finish up on page 92. I am more apt to look at the ads after finishing a story than I am if I have to flip all over the place. I hope the Eastmans never change this. Finish the story without making me flip and I'll look at the ads. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I still know what I like. BB

I feel the same way about ads in the middle of article. I have read some on the mrs but do not really understand waht they are yet another reason Im look at getting at least one ehj or ebj

Go for both, that way you get to read great hunting stories Every month! Take the plunge for a year and I guarantee you'll be hooked. If you go with both, I'll let you in on the world famous "bee pattern" and Mattoelks purple rooster tail pattern!

Go with both! Great stories no matter what method you chose to hunt! There also some great gear reviews, tactics and of course the MRS!

I don't own a bow, and the vast majority of my hunting is in my home state of idaho. So i only get the ehj.

I couldn't say it much better than that. Pretty good bargain considering what you get likewise in that stuff.
