I received my Annual Sheep Issue a couple of days ago and just finished reading the First story "Sweet 16". I had to read it several times to really understand what the story was actually saying. I am a bit upset by what happened, the father actually attempting to kill his daughters ram after he thought she only wounded it. I know lots of people will say it was better for him to shoot it, than the ram possibly getting away and he had a tag anyway (even tho the story didn't actually say that). If she wasn't proficient enough for the followup shot, then ethically maybe she shouldn't have been hunting until she had the shooting skills needed for this situation.

I will probably get a lot of flak about this post, but I have strong feeling about this topic, especially about setting an example for others to follow.

I just read that article this morning. interesting pick of first article in the magazine. With that said, i echo your feelings, but i also know the famous chadwich ram was also killed the same way. I also know it is easy to arm chair this article sitting on the couch. The terrain my stone was killed was not terrain, you wanted to fumble around in tracking an animal. In the end, lots of parents do questionable things for there kids.

Should guides carry rifles for anchoring there clients animals? same exact thing.
