Earliest Muley Season?

Hey guys, My September-Jan is slammed full hunting the east coast this year. I was talking to another guy on here and it got my blood pumping for another mule deer hunt.

What state has the earliest archery opener? I don't have many points anywhere so I'm not expecting a giant. Just trying to squeeze in another hunt to an extremely busy season! Thanks!

I think California has a season that starts in July. Nevada and Utah both have august archery hunts

Utah archery is August 15-September 11 (apps due early March)

Nevada archery should be around August 10-September 9

Oregon archery August 29-September 27 (many are OTC)

Colorado archery (west slope) opens the last Saturday in August so August 29

Wyoming archery is typically the month of September I believe.

You just missed it but Arizona has archery tags OTC for mule deer and coues deer in January. I was thinking about it for 2016.

idahos earliest is aug 15th in a controlled archery hunt, also one controlled rifle hunt in the boise area.I may be wrong but other than those ya have to wait til sep 1st to start flinging arrows.

Californias earliest zone starts on the second weekend of July. That is strictly coastal blacktail. Lots of public land but hotter than Hades and lots of folks. Pretty long drive for a deer that may only weigh about 100 pounds skinned and gutted. The west slope of the sierras has archery openers that start in august. Tons of public land but relatively low success rates. But most don't hunt seriously, so those that do can usually beat the odds.

That A zone archery tag in ca is really tough to fill also. I spent my whole childhood hunting A zone. If youre hunting public land in A zone anything legal is a shooter!

Az has an August deer season don't have the exact dates with me ,bring lots of ice or hunt north but you'll still need ice.
