Looking for recommendations for an electronic call. Mostly be used for coyotes, however we do have foxes and bobcats. I have been giving the FoxPro fusion some thought but there are just so many makes and models available. Couple that with none of our local stores carry more than a handful of calls and making an informed decision gets difficult, quick.

I like any FoxPro with the TX-1000 remote and FoxBang feature. I recommend getting the Foxgrip II also and attaching it to your shooting sticks or bipod for quick adjustments as a predator approaches. I'd probably buy a Shockwave if I was buying today.

I have an Alpha Dog also and while the sounds are great I don't find the remote nearly as user friendly. I end up spending to much time looking at it instead of running it by feel while watching for predators. Just my personal opinion.

I'd probably look at the more compact FoxPro models, Shockwave or smaller. I'm guessing you will be carrying it a lot on your back and while I like the volume of my Prairie Blaster 3 it weighs almost 12lbs. FoxPro's can be customized by places like Allpredatorcalls.com. They can put the sounds you want on it. I would probably get the wolf vocals and prey sounds from larger animals like deer and elk calf, stuff like that. I haven't called wolves so I'm just guessing.

For coyotes I think a prey imitating motion decoy really helps keep their attention off me while I'm getting the gun on a coyote. I think that would be worth considering, I use a Mojo Critter or the one built into my FoxPro.

I bought the fox pro fusion at lunch today. now I got to learn how to use it.
You can also purchase sound packages through allpredators.com at a reasonable price once you get familiar with the process. Lightning Jack is hands down my best producer.....

I have one of the originals with the TX-1 remote. I still use it 99% of the time and there is absolutely no telling how much stuff I have killed using this call.

I have the Fury with GX-7.

I HATE the over-complicated remote of the GX7.

If it was me, I would get the one I posted at the bottom and never look back.

Electronic calls...KEEP IT SIMPLE. Youll be glad you did.

Dont put 1378 calls on your electronic call either. Thats just silly.

I have killed 99% of the game with 10 calls on that electronic call.

You need the following in an electronic call:

-On/off
-Mute
-Volume up/down
-Channel up / down
-Auxiliary on/off button

Anything more than that is just confusing and unnecessary in my opinion.

Great price right now too...

Thanks everyone, the main use of this call will be for wolves.
It is funny, no desire for coyotes, but matching wits with a wolf is getting higher on the list. just wish I didn't love snowmobiling so much.

I actually like the more complicated TX-1000 remote I have. I like the larger screen mainly and the FoxBang feature that hits a kiyi for me when I shoot. I have had it stop a second coyote just long enough I could get a shot, I wouldn't have pulled off my first 4 coyote stand last fall without it. I have quite a few sounds with my call because it came with them but by using my Favorites/Presets folder I keep it manageable. I have 14 sounds in there with pre-set volume levels I use most of the time on stand. I like that so I don't screw up and have my volume on 30 from a howl when I switch to say a bird distress.

My biggest complaint about the Alpha Dogg I also have is the remote. It's just not as easy to use by feel, and I like to keep my eyes watching for coyotes and not on the remote.
