Planning on a trip this coming season for mule deer in Wyoming. Depending on which area I get drawn, Ill either be showing up a couple of days early to hunt the central flyway or staying a couple of extra days to hunt the pacific. Having issues finding the answers to some questions so I figured id ask the Wyoming experts. I see where it lists certain reservoirs are closed for waterfowl hunting...does that mean all the others are open? Are recreation areas open to hunting? The laws in Virginia are very strict about waterfowl so I want to make sure I dont get a federal ticket trying to hunt somewhere im not familiar with. I appreciate any advice on the laws of Wyoming waterfowl.

Yes some lakes are open and some have restrictions. We have some good duck hunting on the streams and rivers too.
One word on duck hunting here, some waters are really alkaline, the ducks taste terrible. I prefer to hunt small streams and rivers.
Some years we have been frozen in mid Oct, you just never know.
Look online for public access areas, they will list the restrictions. https://wgfd.wyo.gov/public-access

Growing up in Wyoming I used to shoot quite a few mallards during deer season off the mountain beaver ponds. October usually beings quite a few ducks to the state. Good luck.
