no, not really sure why I never knocked an arrow, I always knock and always check. just so stupid, string totally blew up, cams look good and limbs look good, going to take bow in today and see for sure.

Yikes! Been there, done that though... My cables caught my limbs so they didn't bust, but my string snapped completely in half. I just remember holding it in my hand staring at the bow trying to figure out what just happened. I did mine when I was adjusting my release and had it set too light... hit my backwall at full draw and release just opened up... bad deal. Hopefully it is only your string and you will only be out a little bit and will be back to shooting in no time!

feel for you especially right before season. Rooting for new string and back in gear!!! let my buddy check out my brand new bow he pulled it back with bare fingers and let her fly, I was not sure if i should punch him or cry... got lucky though. new string and back in action.

Was he not familiar with bows to have done that intentionally?

Ivory; youre not the only one. I was back home in Colorado a couple weeks ago and I did the exact same thing while shooting with a buddy (I always check my nock but apparently not this time). Blew the string off the idler wheel and bent the axle as well as tweaked the bearings. Could not have come at a worse time as I am missing opening weekend as we speak cuz my bow is not back.

I really thought my guy was going to have it done by yesterday but alas, he has been swamped and on top of that recovering from rotator cuff surgery. Perfect crappy storm.

Considering the limbs are okay and no one got hurt, I guess it could have been worse but dang man, I'm right there with you.

Man get that thing fixed!!!! Almost time to rock and roll!! Put a set of Winner choice strings on it and you wont have to do much there strings are the best and you wont have to wait for your string to slip in. It will be fine.

thanks everyone!! it ended up being just the string, and that makes me very happy!!! got home with it at 5 last night and spent next few hours at the range, so glad it was just the string.

A friend owns a bow shop and two days before archery season he had three come in. All three just needed strings. Sounds like you got lucky.
One of the women dry fired during our last round at archery league. What a horrible sound !!
Also just a string. New string on and she needed to reshoot one round.

I have always put a Arrow on the string whenever I draw it back just to check something, glad I did one time my release broke, bow was good but I sent an arrow through two walls and stuck in the third. Wife was not happy. Glad your back in business.
