Antelope were pretty much at an all time high several years ago and the G&F is just trying to get then down to what the available habitat will support in a lot of areas where the drought has been bad. Units that now have those cuts are at and some are below where they want them. There are a lot of units that still have a ton of animals as can be seen by the number of tags, especially doe/fawn tags, that are being issued.Lots of antelope cuts, I can't complain about that, way overdue in my opinion. Are the goats still doing that bad, even with the mild winters? If so that is concerning.
If you're pretty sure you won't draw the unit 75 tag, you have until June 3 to modify your application. It just depends on how many PPs you have and whether you want to change to another unit with a better chance now that the tentative tag numbers are posted.Well crap, I might as well expect a refund now, they cut 100 tags out of 75 for lopers. I had high hopes when I put in but not now. Guess I'll have to wait 2 more months to find out for sure.
Just curious, how many points did you go in with? I seriously considered 75, and 74 for that matter. But went with 73 and I'm sticking with it. Good luck!Well crap, I might as well expect a refund now, they cut 100 tags out of 75 for lopers. I had high hopes when I put in but not now.
